I found the course excellent and very relaxing. It exceeded my expectations. There were lots of great techniques and I enjoyed meeting other pregnant women. After the classes I had the best night's sleep of the week!

  • Prenatal one-to-one classes are available right from the early stages of pregnancy (Birthlight training is especially designed to help nurture women with gentle techniques and yoga therapy at this crucial time). One-to-one classes are also useful in the case of conditions that may relate to pregnancy, such as pelvic girdle pain, or to give you more privacy, confidence, or specific technique points to help you to benefit more deeply from the practice.

I really felt that the yoga sessions prepared me both physically and mentally for the labour, as well as helping me to keep good posture during pregnancy as my body adjusted for my growing 'bump'. One-to-one classes allowed me to focus on adjustments that really made a huge difference. Being a first time mum, you have no idea what labour is going to be like and this can be a very scary prospect. The classes gave me the confidence that I needed to trust my body in labour.

They include active instruction and a chance to physically practice postures, breathing techniques and meditation suitable for birth and labour to help you feel more confident and resourced. I must say that the yoga came in VERY useful. I am so thrilled I was able to take the course. It was nice to be assured by the midwife that my breathing was spot on. AND I got to use some of the yoga positions in my labour. Well done, Kim, for helping make my labor and delivery smoother! Lee Boyd Charlton

Postnatal Mummy and Baby Yoga:

  • Postnatal Yoga can be undertaken with or without baby either one-to-one or in a small group. It can be immensely healing following birth. Birthlight training addresses each stage postnatally, even offering techniques to use in the early days following delivery. Gentle, researched techniques help to re-align the postnatal body, to gently, yet powerfully re-stabilise and strengthen muscles and to bring back emotional and hormonal equilibrium.
  • Postnatal Mummy and Baby Yoga is a chance for bonding, joint relaxation and nurturing to help support sleeping and feeding. Classes are available 0-3 months and 4 months plus to address the different needs of babies as they grow.

Postnatally the yoga sessions helped me to feel really aligned very quickly. I was quite surprised!
